Surgery Costs
Surgery in a private hospital can incur costs. If you are in a health fund most of these are covered but there can be some out of pocket expenses.
We recognise these can produce financial difficulty and set our own charges at a rate significantly below that recommended by the AMA. For those on a pension, having cancer surgery and most paediatric procedures, we waive these charges.
If you are treated in the public hospital there are no surgical charges, although there is a consultation fee for review in my office.
